Hammond Studio

If designing one’s own home is a labour of love, then Hammond Studio’s new studio in Surry Hills is their ultimate passion project. It is a true representation of their love for the practice of design—a beautiful space to experience and work in day-to-day.

Guided by the existing tone of the heritage flooring, Hammond Studio used American Walnut throughout for joinery and furniture.

The location was selected for its large south-facing windows, which open the space up to an abundance of soft sunlight—perfect for reviewing finishes for projects.

With a particular emphasis on the quality of light, indirect and tunable LED technology was used to create variable colour temperatures that span from morning through to evening.

The classic Bumling pendant by Atelje Lyktan is featured throughout the design in gloss white and dusty green. The pendant makes a statement, complementing the warehouse design aesthetic and defining the sitting area in the main office space.
