Int.Lighting collaborated closely with Aeron Group to design a lighting system that adhered to mental health and safety standards, focusing on anti-ligature and harm-proof luminaires. The goal was to create a gentle, nurturing environment for mothers and babies while maintaining high safety standards. The illumination was achieved using shallow Illure standard and asymmetric profiles, installed with custom brackets, anti-vandal captive flanges, and trimless mounting methods.
The project involved refurbishing an older building with limited ceiling and wall cavities for installation. Extensive R&D was required to ensure the correct illuminance levels and spacings were achieved while using very shallow profiles and enhanced diffusing mediums for optimal visual comfort. Custom ceiling and wall-mount brackets were designed to meet Health Infrastructure’s Anti-Vandalism and Anti-Ligature specifications.
At Int.Lighting, we believe healthcare, aged care, and mental health lighting need not be dull or industrial. With thoughtfully designed luminaires and architectural features, these spaces can be transformed into comfortable and welcoming environments.
